He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Smith and Ruth Smith (Bailey); and his sister Loretta Gosselin (Smith). He is survived by: his sisters, Faye Butterfield (Smith), Sally Merrill (Smith) and Nancy Starr (John). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
