He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Nix, Sr. and Ethel Nix (Holtzclaw); his wife Marjorie Nix (Carlson); his children, David and Donna; and his siblings, Theodore and Lillian.
He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Loesch of Chester, NH; and his sister Betty Faye. He is also survived by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
