Richard will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Though Richard is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Richard’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Winfred McBain and Harry Christopher O'Connell; and his wife Jean I. O'Connell. He is survived by: his daughter Jill Chapman (Chris) of Boscawen, NH; his grandchildren, Liam and Adrian Chapman; and his brother Robert O'Connell of Concord. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Christ the King Parish (72 S Main St, Concord, NH 03301). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Blossom Hill Cemetery (207 N State St, Concord, NH 03301).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
