He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Edwin A. Lord and Mary MacKenzie Lord; his daughters, Nancy (Wickwire) and Lauri (Waldron); his wife Layla Miller Lord; his sons-in-law, Andrew of Manchester, NH and Kevin of Darien, CT; his grandchildren, Eddie Wickwire, Layla Wickwire, Connor Waldron and Meaghan Waldron; his son George Peterson (Sydney Smith); his grandchild Zara Devarenne (Joe Devarenne); his nephew Mark Ruddy (Cathy); his great-nephew Christopher Ruddy; and also Legion.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hopkinton Fire Department or to the non-profit foundation started by his grand-nephew, George Peterson, which provides healthy living resources to anyone impacted by addiction.

“But my favorite memories will always be tied to the annual pilgrimage to Contookcook to cut our own Christmas tree at Lords' Tree Farm. The house decorated with multiple trees, the beer tap in the kitchen, the long walk up the hill and then down the icy paths, sometimes with our dog hauling the tree on his leash. That was the best, along with catching up with what our summer friends had been up to in the past 5 months. The Ruddys and Lords will always be in the Robinsons' hearts. Mark”

Summers in Cotuit when I was young, he was always full of fun, a surrogate dad to Mark and Joann, as laid back as any one else on vacation, beer and clam rake in hand, until he had to put on the captain's uniform and head to Logan in the convertible for his next stint.
