William (Ike) Brown Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William (Ike) Brown of Alton , born in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, he passed away on July 18, 2021, at the age of 78 after suffering from Alzheimer's for many years. Ike had resided in Alton for 52 years and spent many years in his wood shop on Stockbridge Corner. Over the years many people stopped by to enjoy his love of working with wood. He could build cabinets and other large items but his true love was making miniatures. His windows in the shop were full of trucks, cars, trains and a wide assortment of gadgets that turned and twisted. Ike worked for many years for BPS Construction of Laconia, NH and made many friends there. Ike served his Country by joining the US Navy Sep. 9th 1960. Ike was fortunate to have served aboard the US Mitscher on a goodwill tour of the Mediterranean Countries bringing home many pictures plus a large piece of petrified wood from Tobruk, Lybia. Upon leaving the service in 1966 he and a friend weaved their way across the United States visiting all state but 11. Ike was a jokester and certainly knew how to make everyone laugh. Ike leaves behind his wife and best friend of 52 years, Kathleen Gordon Brown of Alton, his oldest Son Lawrence (Larry) Brown and his wife Denise of Alton, and his Youngest Son Sean and his wife Patty of Callahan Florida. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Theresa Brown of Delaware and his Brother Richard and Sister Alice. He leaves His brother Ronald, and Sisters Carol, Phyllis (Tudy) and Nancy.. He also leaves behind many, many long time close friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 7th 2021 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the American Legion (164 Wolfeboro Highway).
