He was predeceased by: his mother Shirley Garland; his stepfather Ray Ambrose; his father Robert LaClair; and his grandparents, Jane and Everett Garland.
He is survived by: his wife Laurie Houghton-LaClair; his children, Nick Houghton-LaClair, Alexander Houghton-Lyman (Amanda) and Olivia Spaulding (Christopher); and his grandchildren, Natalie, Georgia Mae, Jackson and Lili.
