He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Martins (Falzano) of Derry; his children, Robert Martins (Jennifer) of Manchester and Sandra Beaulieu (Daniel) of Derry; and his siblings, Jose Martins (Celia) of Porto, Fatima Martins of Porto and Ana Martins of Porto. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
