We are sad to announce that on April 6, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Ruth E. Markell of Derry, New Hampshire, born in Berlin, New Hampshire. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Frederick Mason and Madeleine Mason (Dion); and her siblings, Carolyn Nolan, Barbara Tarby, Sandra Leroux, Richard Mason and Avril Mason.

She is survived by : her daughters, Kristine Dube of Derry and Cheryl Slater (Jon) of Derry; her grandchildren, Samantha Markell of Hopkinton, Carly Slater of Derry, Jon Dube, Jr. of Derry and Aaron Slater of Derry; her sisters, Jacqueline Morton of Venice, FL and Roberta Mason of Gorham, NH; and her foster daughters, Melody England, Deanna Brown, Marie Benoit, Jamie King and Lillian Nichols. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium (15 Birch St, Derry, NH 03038). A graveside service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Hill Cemetery. Once her grandchildren started school she worked part time at Hannaford up until COVID.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics NH or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
