He was predeceased by: his parents, John S Gilman II and Yvonne I. Gilman (LaPlume); his wife Jennie F. Gilman; his sister Elaine M. O'Brien; and his brother-in-law Thomas Landers.
He is survived by: his sons, John S. Gilman IV (Marnie Gilman) and Jamie A. Gilman (Maria Gilman); his grandsons, John S. Gilman (Jack) and Grant B. Gilman (Melanie Kim); his great grandchild Hazel Gilman; and his sisters, Janet C. (Charles Hartman), Claudia F. Landers and Lucy A. (James Smith). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
