He is survived by : his wife Marilyn Murphy (Dechayne); his children, Rob Murphy, Tara Guillemin (Tim) and Maura Malark (Michael); his grandchildren, Kaila, Ethan Guillemin, Connor and Gavin Malark; his siblings-in-law, Janet Walsh, Jim Walsh, Gail Bernstein, Ken Bernstein, Maryanne Dechayne and Gerald Dechayne; and his friends, Jim McLaughlin and Bob Cullen. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home (1479 Washington St, West Newton, MA 02465). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Parish (1321 Centre St, Newton Centre, MA 02459).
