Gary Rotnofsky Obituary

Gary Rotnofsky, 77, of Exeter, NH, passed away on March 22, 2025, at the Exeter Center in Exeter, NH. He was born on November 9, 1947, in Bronx, NY, as one of twins with his brother Roy, to Isidore Rotnofsky and Evelyn (Levine) Rotnofsky.

Gary grew up in Bridgeport, CT, where he was one of four children. He graduated from Central High School in Bridgeport, Class of 1965, and entered the workforce immediately after school. For many years, Gary worked as a factory worker in furniture manufacturing at the Bassick Co. in Bridgeport. Gary spent the majority of his life in Connecticut before relocating to New Hampshire, where he lived for over 20 years with his sister in Gonic, NH, before settling in Exeter in 2017.

Gary was diagnosed with early-onset diabetes and, over time, became a double amputee. Despite the challenges brought on by his condition, Gary lived a full and active life, though he became disabled in his later years. He developed a deep passion for movies, particularly action and horror films, and amassed an impressive collection of movies on LaserDisc and DVD. In addition to his love of film, Gary enjoyed listening to music from the 1960s, often playing his favorite tunes as he reminisced about the past. His love for his family was ever-present, and he was deeply appreciated by his sister, Harriet, and her grandchildren: Christina Jarry and her husband, David, Adam Searles, and Jesse Searles.

Gary was predeceased by his parents; his son, Jeffrey Rotnofsky; his sister and brother-in-law, Harriet and Donald LaChance; and his brother-in-law, Kenneth Piegari.

He is survived by his daughter, Kristina Falcon; several grandchildren, his brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Diane Rotnofsky; his sister, Roslyn Piegari; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Brewitt Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. Burial will follow at the Prospect Cemetery, Epping, NH.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Gary's memory be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Keep Gary's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
