He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Scruton and Irene Scruton; his brother Doug Scruton; and his brother-in-law Charlie Gerrish. He is survived by: his wife Frances Scruton of Farmington; his children, Chris Scruton, Terra Martineau (Dan), Aaron Scruton (Michelle) and Bethany Thayer (Jasper); his stepson Luther; his siblings, Dennis Scruton (Joyce), Lisa Chikosky (Randy) and Nanci Gerrish; his grandchildren, Andrew, Ashlyn, Ryan, Daniel, Katie, Isaac, Silver, Ethan, Emmett, Maverick and Anson; his great grandchild Kensley; and his friends, James, Fred and Bruce. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
