It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita J. Matson of Hampstead, New Hampshire, who passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Roland Fouquet and Anna-Marie (Brassard); her husbands, James J Ryan, Jr. and John A. Matson Jr.; and her siblings, Emmanuel, Marcel, Evelyne Coté and Liliane Grenier.
She is survived by: her daughters, Maria Randolph (Dale) of Lawrence, MA and Julie Bowerman (David) of Springfield, MA; her stepchildren, Deborah Hill (Tom) of Chelmsford, MA and John Matson, III (Jill) of Rockland, MA; her sisters, Denise Kilifarski and Diane Desjardins; her grandchildren, Norah, Emma, Sarah, Charlie, George, Stephanie, Jessica, Julia and Lily; her great grandchildren, Ariano, Olivier and Eloise; and her son-in-law Paul Cowley. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Saint Anne Parish Food Pantry.
