He was predeceased by: his parents, Armas Hakala and Anne Hakala (Larson). He is survived by: his children, Mark Hakala (Lauren), Katherine Fowler (Geoffrey) and Karin Welch (Stephen); his grandchildren, Jennifer Lehrman, Keith Lehrman (Talia) and Jared Hakala (Ava); his great grandchild Ada Lehrman; his sister Anne Olean; and his niece Heidi Welnak.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel (44 Maple Ave, Keene, NH 03431). A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at the Monadnock View Cemetery (499 Park Ave, Keene, NH 03431).
