He was predeceased by: his father Richard Earle Phelps. He is survived by: his mother Joan Boehm (O'Mara) of Ocala, FL; his sons, Benjamin (Chelsea) of Medford, MA, Ian of Keene, NH and Aaron of Durango, CO; his stepmother Gail Laker-Phelps of Epsom, NH; his granddaughters, Evelyn and Natalie Phelps; his sisters, Lisa Phelps (Doug Montgomery) of Barnstead, NH and Brenda Major of Ocala, FL; his close friend Bruce (Coon); and his pet Boone.
