She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Benson and Lida Benson (Russ); and her siblings, Hiram, William, Earl, Ervin Benson, Dorothy Young (Benson), Muriel Lavalley (Benson) and Mary Hodgman (Benson).
She is survived by: her husband Gordon V. Carkin; her children, Stephen Carkin (Laren) of Bedford, NH, Susan Goulet (Charlie) of Gilford, NH, Scott Carkin (Laurie) of Ogunquit and Stuart Carkin of Laconia, NH; her grandsons, Nathan, Derek Goulet of Laconia, NH and Samuel Carkin (Katelyn) of Bedford, NH; her great grandchildren, Jack and Emilee Carkin of Bedford, NH; and her sister Helen Boudreau (Benson) of Laconia, NH. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
