He was predeceased by : his parents, Bernard Dowland and Gertrude Dowland (Weatherbee); and his siblings, Winston Dowland, Bernard Dowland, George Dowland and Louise Simino.

He is survived by : his wife Doreen Dowland (Leclair); his children, Dana, Robert, Bryant, Shelley and Kris; and his siblings, Victoria Tear and Philip Dowland. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
