She was predeceased by: her husband Roger E. Hamel; her parents, Anton Kohlenbeck and Magdelina Kohlenbeck (Porisch); her brothers, Fritz and Heinz Kohlenbeck; and her grandson Zackery Fortune.

She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Fortune (David) of Lakeland, Cindy McAninch (Steven) of Weare, NH, Dianna L'Heureux of Kailua, HI and Caroline Fortune of Honolulu, HI.; her grandchildren, Valerie Fortune, Janet Fortune, Raymond L'Heureux (Amy), Delia Johnson (Jason), Lindsey Sevigny (Matt) and Jesse Lemire; and her great grandchildren, Caleb Fortune, Madison Johnson, Alana, Ava, Amiyah Sevigny, Evelyn and Amelia L'Heureux.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the First Church of Merrimack (7 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack, NH 03054). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
