He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel MacDonald and Emma MacDonald; and his siblings, Dorothy, Shirley, Daniel, Robert, Eugene and Billy.
He is survived by: his wife Caroline; and his children, Richard, Jr. (Mary Eisenhauer), Timothy (Patricia), Jeffrey (Deanna) and Christine (Timothy Lantz). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
