He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Augustyn and Maribeth Augustyn. He is survived by: his wife Laura; his children, Kimberly Wheeler (Ron) of Derry, Douglas Augustyn (Amy) of Port Deposit and Andrew Augustyn (Ari) of Cockeysville, Maryland; his grandchildren, Lillian Augustyn, Alanna, Elise, Gabrielle, Paxton and Zachary Wheeler; and his siblings, Charles Augustyn of Santa Fe, Kathy Robles of Kearney, Peg Andrews of Lincoln, Susan Augustyn of Jaffrey and Carol Augustyn of Sierra Vista, Arizona.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the United Service Organizations (USO).
