He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. Joy, Sr. and Marion G. Joy (Price); and his pets, Buddy and Dube. He is survived by: his brothers, Walter Joy, Jr. (Annette Smith) and Jamie Joy (Brandy Greenwood). He is also survived by numerous nieces and one great nephew.
