He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gestay and Leona Gestay. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Johnson; his children, Denise Zawalinski of Waterford, CT, Lauren (Jack Coleman) of Portland, CT, David Gestay of Meriden, CT and Steven (Sue Gestay) of Haddam, CT.; his stepchildren, Scott, Brent Johnson of Newport, NH and Al's; his grandchildren, Jacob, Haley, Addy, Molly, Mason, Evan, Brendon, Ashlee, Brooke and Connor; and his great grandchildren, Marianna and Sophia.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home (42 Main St, Newport, NH 03773). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church (724 Main St, New London, NH 03257). A reception will be held on Friday, May 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Forester's Club (38 Maple St, Newport, NH 03773).
