He was predeceased by: his parents, Valentine Mathes and Ruth Mathes; and his sister Ann Mathes. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Mathes; his children, Laurie Mathes of Maine and Kathleen Mathes Little (Matthew Little) of Massachusetts; his grandchildren, Isabelle, Jack, Porter and Carolin; his pet Andy; and his brother James Mathes of Dover.
