He is survived by: his wife Anna V. Shalda (Philbrick); his son Simon Shalda; his parents, Ron Shalda and Leslie Shalda of Toledo; and his sisters, Meredith Errington (Andy) of Maumee and Natalie Shalda of Toledo, Ohio..

His donation saved the lives of five people, including a thirteen-year-old girl who otherwise would have died.
