Robert Sanders Obituary
Robert I. Sanders, 49, passed away on Wednesday, December 09, 2020 at the Jersey Shore University Medical Center located in Neptune NJ. Robert was born on September 17, 1971 at Fitkins Hospital, in Neptune, NJ. He grew up in Asbury Park, NJ where he attended its local school systems. He was a supremely devoted father to his two children, a loving grandfather, and a thoughtful and generous friend to all who knew him.
His unassuming smile, easy and charismatic personality always made being around him feel as though you were in the presence of someone who cared. He loved to watch sports and was the ultimate New England Patriots fan. Robert was an adrenaline chaser who loved taking trips to the racetrack, cheering at High School football games, and spontaneous trips to Atlantic City.
Although outwardly quite, Robert had an incredibly big and loving heart, a genuine spirit, and he took great pride in helping others in any way he could. Robert's kind personality and giving nature was unmatched. He lived by the golden rule to never judge, yet was quick to give advice, solace or comfort to anyone in their time of need.
When in his presence , Rob was sure to captivate you with a thought provoking conversation about recent events, the distant past, sports (especially football) or even Jeopardy. He knew all of the relevant details about a slew of topics and could talk about them for hours. If there was a fact to be found or shared – just ask Rob, and he'd likely know it.
Robert was employed at Stop & Shop in Neptune, NJ for over 20 years in the deli department where he was highly regarded as one of the store's most reliable and key employees. He was previously employed by the Boston Market Corporation. Rob's work ethic and commitment to setting a positive example for others to follow was undeniable.
Robert is survived by his Mother, Mary of Asbury Park, Daughter Danielle, son Jason, Granddaughter Destiny of Tinton Falls and niece Laila Sanders of Columbus. He also leaves to celebrate his life, two brothers, David Sanders, Columbus, NJ, John Sanders, Asbury Park, a Sister Tracie Sanders, Asbury Park, Sister-in-law Jody Sanders, Maria Buckland a devoted friend, along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
