It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roderic Schmidt (Barnegat, New Jersey), who passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Roderic Schmidt to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schmidt and Inez Schmidt; and his sister June Shuster. He is survived by: his brother Terry; his family, Katie, Sarah and Joseph; his wife Barbara Ann; his children, Roderic D. Schmidt (Magdalena), Kathryn Carroll (Dylan), Sarah Schmidt (Scott Synnestvedt) and Joseph Schmidt (Kelsey); his grandchildren, Evelyn, Liam, Wesley, Norah, Elizabeth, Samuel and Zachary; and his brother Theron Schmidt (Lorraine).

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any donations be made to the Parkinson Voice Project or the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary's Church in Barnegat.
