He was predeceased by: his wife Madhura Bharathi. He is survived by: his daughter Tamraparni Dasu (Kumar Doraiswami) of New Vernon; his grandson Athrey Krishnakumar (Olivia Chitkara); his great grandchild Kaia Ann Krishnakumar; and his brother Dasu Kesava Rao (Yamini). He is also survived by relatives, friends.
In recognition of his lifelong contribution to journalism and education, the Osmania University Alumni Association honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
