He is survived by: his children, Kathleen DePoortere, Patrick DePoortere and Elizabeth DePoortere; and his grandchildren, Maryann Erwin (Justin), Ruth DePoortere, Amanda DePoortere, Jesse DePoortere, Nicole Longo (Michael), Kristin DePoortere (Anthony Salas), Alex DePoortere and Dana Seagreaves (Trevor). He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to HeartWorks or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Richard's memory.
