He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Prokop; and his siblings, George Prokop, Andrew Prokop, Jr., Mary Baran, Margaret Knoop, Helen Kachmarsky, Dorothy Lupo, Irene Prokop, Elizabeth DiGiorgio, Veronica Sileo and Anna Furchak.
He is survived by: his children, Chris (Lisa Prokop), Diane Prokop (Jodi Fuller) and Michael Prokop; and his grandchildren, Ashley, Michael and Christianna Prokop.
Visitation was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Caiola-Stellato Funeral Home (691 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ 07002). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the St. John Paul II RC Parish (39 E 22nd St, Bayonne, NJ 07002). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 15th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Holy Name Cemetery (823 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ 07306).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Edward's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, continuing his legacy of compassion and service to others. Edward Peter Prokop will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for the warmth and kindness he shared with everyone he met.
