He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann "Nancy" Downie and Thomas Downie; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Harrington and John Kenny. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline; his children, John Patrick Downie, Jr. and Caitlyn Downie; his mother-in-law Mary "Botch" Kenny; his siblings, Peggy Garvey, Thomas Downie, Jr. (Marybeth Downie), Mary Harrington and Eileen Bocchino (Thomas Bocchino); his siblings-in-law, Joyce Charmello (Nick Charmello), James "Packer" Kenny (Renee Kenny) and Mark Kenny (Karen Kenny); and his pets, Bentley and Kole. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in John's name to the American Diabetes Association.
