He was predeceased by : his wife Dorothy (Tkaczyk); his parents, Peter and Bertha (Pietziak); and his son-in-law Thomas Rainey. He is survived by : his sister Barbara Gillespie; his children, Robert F. Zawistowski (Daria), Janine Byrne (John), Dorothy Rainey, Cynthia Apostol (Michael), Mary DeRosa (Greg) and Edward Zawistowski (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Natalie Pospishil (Scott), Eric Zawistowski, Christine Byrne, Lena Byrne (Mike Simon), Thomas Rainey (Katelyn), Corinne Rainey, Adam Rainey (Genevieve), Caroline Apostol, Catherine Apostol, Justin Zawistowski and Lucas Zawistowski; and his great grandchildren, Amelia, Oliver, Alice, Gabriel, Artemius, Emerson, Weller and Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephew.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Robert would be most appreciated.
