Richard Colson Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on March 12, 2026, at the age of 89, Richard Colson of Belford, New Jersey passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Colson and Nina Colson (Johnson); his wife Isobel Colson (Lockwood); his daughter Kathryn "Kathy" Walzer; and his siblings, Robert Colson, Leonard Colson, Norman Colson, Gloria Colson, Helen Colson, Doris Willis, Alvin Colson, Albert Colson and Marion Colson.
He is survived by: his children, Sharon Trautvetter of California, Richard "Rick" Colson (Charlotte) of Aberdeen, NJ, Thomas Walzer of Edmonds and Daniel "Dan" Colson (Patricia) of North Middletown, NJ; his grandchildren, Scott Colson of North Middletown, NJ, Andrea Rivera (Rich) of Keansburg, NJ, Benjamin Walzer and Jonathan Walzer (Kysa) of Washington; and his great grandchildren, Jack, Satine Colson and Wesley Walzer. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dick's memory to the Belford Engine Fire Company, a place where he proudly served his community for many years.
