He was predeceased by: his parents, August Desmet and Rose Desmet. He is survived by: his wife Marilynn Desmet; his children, Michael DeSmet and Kathleen (Richard); his grandchildren, Nicholas Lusardi (Hilary), Matthew Lusardi (Shannon) and Christian Lusardi; his great grandchildren, Bobby, Annie and Henry Lusardi; and his brothers, Jim Desmet (Joan) and Dan Desmet (Patty).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home Chapel (115 Tindall Rd, Middletown Township, NJ 07748). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Mary Mother of God Church (19 Cherry Tree Farm Rd., New Monmouth, NJ 07748). A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Valleau Cemetery (546 Franklin Turnpike, Ridgewood, NJ 07450).
