She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles McCarthy and Eileen McCarthy; her brother Charles (Marge); and her daughter Eileen Dirkes (Ronald). She is survived by: her sisters, Mary Traynor (Joe) and Joanne Kain (Joe); her husband James Patrick Shields; and her children, Diane Marroletti (John), James P. (Donna) and John (Cheryl). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eileen's memory to Samaritan Hospice, P.O. Box 71425, Philadelphia, PA 19176 would be appreciated.
