He was predeceased by: his parents, Chris and Stella DeFazio; his brother Joseph; and his sons, Kevin Mikkelson and Angelo.

He is survived by: his significant other Dot Saverino; his children, Jeanna Ventura (Rusty), Jeffrey DeFazio (Karen), Jason Saverino (Kristyn) and Ed Saverino (Michele); his sisters, Barbara Mauser and Beatrice Vota; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Anna, Jayson, Carolina, Alexa, Ryley, Tyler, Bella, Jordyn and Ava.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home (47 E Main St, Freehold, NJ 07728). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:45 PM at the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery (299 Freehold-Englishtown Rd, Freehold, NJ 07728).
