It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Stephen MacGowan of Belmar, New Jersey, who passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter MacGowan and Margaret MacGowan. He is survived by: his siblings, Joann Levey, Adele Gilhooly, Walter MacGowan, Mary Reilly (William), Thomas MacGowan (Kathleen), James MacGowan (Marianne) and Judith Paparozzi (Mario); and his nieces and nephews, Barry, Neil, Sean Robbins, Michael, Brian Reilly, Joshua Sheridan, Patrick, Thomas MacGowan Jr., Brian MacGowan, Mario, Daniel Paparozzi, Nadya, Natasha Gilhooly, Luda DelPriore, Maura Lunieski and Diana Heslin. He is also survived by several grand nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
