He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William O'Connor and Dorothy O'Connor; his wife Everdina "Dien" O'Connor; his children, Patrick O'Connor of East Providence, RI, Mary Darnstead (Darrin) of Allamuchy and Sean O'Connor of Camden, ME; and his siblings-in-law, Edward Nieuwenhuis (Lois) of Pompton Plains, Garret Nieuwenhuis (Florence) of Wyckoff, Neal Nieuwenhuis (Janet) of Everett, WA, Grada, Allen Wheeler and Rich Nieuwenhuis (Trudy) of Belvidere. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home (567 Ratzer Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Belvidere Cemetery (161 Pequest Rd, Belvidere, NJ 07823). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Vander May Wayne Colonial Funeral Home (567 Ratzer Rd, Wayne, NJ 07470).
In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School, 164 Jacksonville Road, Pompton Plains, NJ 07444 or the Christian Health Care Center, 301 Sicomac Ave., Wyckoff, NJ 07481 would be greatly appreciated.
