We announce the death of Robert MacDonald (Berkeley Heights, New Jersey), who passed away on October 30, 2026, at the age of 82. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Viteritti "Dot" MacDonald; his parents, Duncan Archibald MacDonald and Jessie MacDonald; and his brothers, Donald Hugh and John Angus MacDonald.
He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Brough (Michael), Susan Sturdevant (Wes) and John Archibald MacDonald (Laurie Penhall MacDonald); his grandchildren, Rachel, Catherine, Claire Brough, James, Katelin Sturdevant, Audrey, Sadie, Nora, Lucy and Duncan MacDonald; and his brothers, Duncan Archibald, Andrew Jerome and Phillip Edward MacDonald. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial (646 Springfield Ave, Berkeley Heights, NJ 07922). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
