He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Atkinson and John Atkinson; and his siblings, Cyril and Margaret (Joe). He is survived by: his spouse Shirley; and his children, John, Jr. (Betty), Alan (Patty), Brian, Kevin (Sue), Kathleen (late Elmer), Donna Jean (Jim), Cindy, Chip (Pam) and Shirley. He is also survived by 30 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
