It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine Marie McDermott of Bloomfield, New Jersey, who passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 64, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Alan Frink and Kathleen Frink. She is survived by: her husband James J. McDermott; her son James McDermott III (Jennifer); her sister Michele Bloom (Jeffrey); and her nieces, Emily and Gabriella.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Van Tassel Funeral Home (337 Belleville Ave, Bloomfield, NJ 07003). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Holy Cross Cemetery (340 Ridge Rd, North Arlington, NJ 07031).
