Lawrence R. McGovern Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Lawrence R. McGovern of Bloomfield, New Jersey. Lawrence, born in Nutley, New Jersey, passed away on October 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Lawrence for his warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. He was loved and cherished by many people including: wife: Gail McGovern (nee Haas); son: Lawrence Patrick (Ann Dolan); sister: Joan Pinkham; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Pat Haas, Ron and Joan Haas, Jeannie and Randy Haas, and Walter Erck; parents: Thomas and Katherine McGovern; brothers: Thomas, Ralph and Robert McGovern; sister: Catherine Collins; sisters-in-law: Joan Haas Erck and Sandra Haas Sutton; brothers-in-law: Harold Sutton and Gene Pinkham; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, great and grandnieces and nephews of the McGovern, Pinkham, Haas, Erck, Sutton, Melgarejo, Griffin, Gross, Keeler and Dolan families.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the MacFadden Funeral Home (325 Hardwick St, Belvidere, NJ 07823). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick R. C. Church (327 Greenwich St, Belvidere, NJ 07823).

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to be made in Lawrence's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
