He was predeceased by: his parents, John Mennel and Virginia Mennel; and his wife Cynthia Ann Mennel. He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Anne Mennel of Bryan, Texas and Kimberly Irene Mennel of Bryan, Texas; his brother Dr. Robert G. Mennel (Elizabeth); his sister-in-law Maryann Clemmer (Doug); and his sibling's children, John Mennel, Emilie Collins, Jennifer Smallwood, Gary Sampayo and Valerie Yoder. He is also survived by his family members and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's memory may be made to The Deborah Hospital Foundation.
