He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edward and Elsie Elizabeth Schwarz (Menny); and his siblings, Marie D. Demarest, Hermina J. Gibney, Edna I McCoy, Gertrude Hayes, Mildred Durick, William Schwarz, George Schwarz and Charles E. Schwarz.

He is survived by: his wife Arian Jean Schwarz (Ferris); his children, Lynn Louise Buchala (Robert) of Flemington, Arian Joy DiCanto (John) of Middlesex, Thomas W. Schwarz (Pamela) of Tremont, PA and Peter R. Schwarz of Piscataway; his sister-in-law Nancy Schwarz; his grandchildren, Megan Carducci (Daniel), Amy Heinz (Andrew), Brianna DiCanto, Samantha Ryan (Nicholas), Noel DiCanto, Mary DiCanto, Thomas W. Schwarz, Jr., Benjamin C. Schwarz, Allison K. Schwarz and Carley E. Schwarz; and his great grandchildren, Joey, Lucy Carducci, Adalynn Ryan and Eleanor Heinz.
