She was predeceased by: her parents, Louise Scruggs and William Scruggs; and her brother William Scruggs Jr. (Lucretia). She is survived by: her husband James Horton Jr.; her children, Cynthia Holt (Kevin) and James Horton III (Lisa); her grandchildren, Tanya of James, IV., Ryan, Shepard, Kaitlin, Emily, Hunter and Kevin Jr.; her great grandchildren, Anthony, Brody, Cara, Kelsea, Carson and Rylie; and her sister Anna Nancye Alexander (Greg Doelle).
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Making Strides against Breast Cancer of Central Jersey.
