He was predeceased by: his parents, Rita Turner and P. Theodore Turner (Ted); his brother Thomas Turner of Brielle; and his sister-in-law Joyce McKelvey (Elmira). He is survived by: his wife Elmira; his sons, Hugh Turner II (Jaime) and Matthew Turner (Nichole); his grandchildren, Joshua, Harrison, Matthew and Cassandra; his sisters, Geraldine and Catherine; his sister-in-law Linda Turner; his siblings' children, Chris, Kevin and Kyle; his brothers-in-law, Percy McKelvey and Melvin McKelvey (Cathy); his nephews, Peter, Doug and Tom; his sister-in-law Mary; and his children, Elizabeth, Tyler, Alexis, Tavish and Bella.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Weatherhead Young Funeral Home (885 Mantoloking Rd, Brick, NJ 08723). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages small acts of remembrance in Hugh's honor—go fishing, watch the birds, or share a laugh with an old friend.
