He was predeceased by: his parents, Carmela "Camille" Castrovinci and Joseph La Magra. He is survived by: his friends, Brent, Kyle, Tim, Matt and Al; his children, Jessica Marie Coffin (Dave), Amanda Jean La Magra and Christopher Joseph La Magra (Kerri); his grandchildren, Jacob, Madison, David, Mariella and Jordyn; his friends, Glenn and Phil; his brothers-in-law, Jeff Oriole and Kevin McWeeney; his wife Sheila McWeeney; his brother Frankie; and his siblings-in-law, Sharon, Terry, Elaine, Maureen and Lynn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

Please note, due to it being Lent – no flowers will be permitted in the church (only the Wake). In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation in John's memory to the Troopers Assisting Troops (http://troopersassistingtroops.org) or The Bridge Academy (https://bridgeacademynj.org), the school supporting children with dyslexia that Joe attends.
