He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rentschler and Mary Rentschler (Anderson); and his daughters, Barbara Rentschler and Alys Rentschler Terhune. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Viehmeyer; his son David Viehmeyer (Theresa); his grandson Jacob Stevens (Beverly); his children, Riley, Rowan, Derek (Karly), Rachael (Kyle), Jarrod Barton and Amy Muench (Karl); his grandchildren, Zackary, Karley and Kailey; his great grandchild John Rentscher (Monica); his siblings, Nell McMinn, Carol Johnson, Georgiana Duke (David) and David Rentschler (Leslie); William and Rylee. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home (2170 NJ-88, Brick Township, NJ 08724).
