He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Dato and Teresa Dato; and his brothers, Thomas and Anthony Dato. He is survived by: his wife Domenica Dato; his children, Joseph Dato (Donna) of Staten Island, Geralyn Suprenant (Brian) of Staten Island, Suzette Addeo (Frank) of Brick and Christopher Dato (Denise) of Middletown, NJ; his grandchildren, Joseph (Lisa), Kelly, Brian, Emily and Gianna; his great grandchildren, Mia and Joey; and his sisters, Sophie, Theresa and Anna. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home (2170 NJ-88, Brick Township, NJ 08724). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 9:00 AM at the Saint Dominic R. C. Church (250 Old Squan Rd, Brick Township, NJ 08724).
In lieu of flowers, donations made in his memory to either Saint Jude Children's Hospital http://www.stjude.org. or the Michael J. Fox Foundation http://www.michaeljfox.org. would be deeply appreciated.
