We announce the death of Joseph John Gioia Jr. of Brick, New Jersey, born in Jersey City, New Jersey, who passed away on September 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Joseph will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph John Gioia Sr. and Gertrude Gioia (Sanguinetti); and his siblings, Brian and Linda DeGrigoli. He is survived by: his wife Gloria G. Gioia (Sedlmeir); his children, Michael of Brick and Gina Servis (Vincent) of Toms River; his siblings, Donna Jones (Bill) of Forked River and Ronald (Michelle) of Lanoka Harbor; his grandchildren, Holly, Zachary (Mikayla), Gabriella and Vincent; and his great grandchild Sophia. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O'Brien Funeral Home-Brick (505 Burnt Tavern Rd, Brick Township, NJ 08724). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ocean County Memorial Park (1722 Silverton Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753).
