He was predeceased by: his parents, John Whalen and Margaret Whalen. He is survived by: his wife Polly Whalen; his children, John Whalen and Brenna Zambardi (Joseph); his siblings, James "Jim" Whalen (Jeannie), Mary McAloon (Kevin), Ann Whalen and Margaret "Peggy" Mulligan (Patrick); and his in-law Frank. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O'Brien Funeral Home-Brick (505 Burnt Tavern Rd, Brick Township, NJ 08724). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Dominic's Church (250 Old Squan Rd, Brick Township, NJ 08724).
